On 16 October,
representatives of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, Elektroprivreda
Srbije and the consortium of Hyundai Engineering and UGT Renewables signed the contract
on implementation of the project for construction of solar power plants on the
territory of six local self-governments in Serbia.
It is a
project for construction of self-balanced high-cpacity solar power plants, with
a total installed capacity of 1 GW and battery systems for electricity storage
with a total installed capacity of 200 MW.
The contract
was signed at the Presidency of the Republic of Serbia by the Minister of Mining
and Energy Dubravka Đedović Handanović, EPS General Manager Dušan Živković, UGT
Renewables CEO Adam Cortese, Hyundai Engineering President and CEO Hyeon-Sung
Hong and Hyundai Engineering Belgrade Branch Strategic Manager Sang Min Park.
The signing of the contract was attended by the President of the Republic of
Serbia Aleksandar Vučić, U.S. Ambassador Christopher Hill and South Korean
Ambassador Jaewoong Lee.
