EPS was the first to deposit the source software code in the State Data Center

Contracts signed with suppliers of key business IT systems




Today the Joint Stock Company Electric Power Industry of Serbia signed the first contracts on the deposit of source software code with suppliers of key business IT systems, and the signing at the State Data Center in Kragujevac was attended by Dubravka Đedović Handanović, Minister of Mining and Energy and Mihailo Jovanović, Head of the Office for Information Technology and e-Government. Contracts were signed with the companies Fadata and Energosoft, as well as with the State Data Center. - EPS is the first state-owned company, and not only a company, but also an institution that deposits a backup copy of critical information systems in the State Data Center. In this way, EPS will have the highest level of protection of critical information structure, software that are of vital interest for the company's work, which means additional security for citizens and the economy of services that EPS provides to its customers– says Minister Đedović Handanović. She added that the Ministry of Mining and Energy recognizes the importance of information systems and new technologies on which both production and the overall operation of the energy sector of Serbia increasingly rely. - This practice can and must be applied, both in the remaining part of the energy sector and in other sectors that comprise the critical infrastructure of the Republic of Serbia - the Minister emphasizes. Dušan Živković, General Manager, EPS JSC, pointed out that in this way, EPS has the highest level of control over critical IT infrastructure and takes additional steps to ensure a stable and secure electricity supply. - By signing contracts for the deposit of source software code with suppliers of key business systems, we guarantee that, in the event of any changes or challenges, we will have access to technology that ensures the continuity of services - says Dušan Živković, General Manager, EPS JSC. According to Živković, EPS will continue to invest in the security and stability of all its systems, both production and business information and management systems, given the increasing number of cyber-attacks and the rapid development of technology. The aim is to further ensure a secure and uninterrupted supply of electricity and protection against potential threats. Mihailo Jovanović, Head of the Office for Information Technologies and e-Government, pointed out that the source code of these systems is stored in a protected and secure environment, in accordance with the highest standards and prescribed policies, and that the storage of the code contributes to ensuring business continuity and protection against supplier risks, enabling access to key software resources in case of unforeseen circumstances. ​
