- We are developing 1GW solar power plants with a strategic partner and we are working on improving the production in the existing capacities in order to provide energy security and system stability – said Zivkovic. – The revitalization of hydropower plants has been completed, and we expect the complete revitalization of Bajina Bašta PSHPP to be completed next year. We will ensure safe and secure operation of 80 percent of our hydro capacities, in the next 30 to 35 years, and electricity supply to the citizens of Serbia. In parallel, the revitalization of thermal power plants, in the next two years, will ensure that 75 percent of our thermal capacities will be able to generate electricity in the next 10 to 15 years, until new revitalizations.
Rade Mrdak, Special Advisor to the Minister of Mining and Energy, emphasized that the celebration of 131st anniversary of EPS is an opportunity to look back on a long and rich tradition. – Elektroprivreda Srbije, which has existed under such name for the last 35 years, inherits everything that has happened in Serbian power industry over the past century and beyond. This path was filled with various challenges and transformations in accordance with political, economic and historical circumstances. Today, we can proudly look back on everything that Serbian energy sector has passed through and achieved. It was the time of development, innovation and crucial moments for our economy and society – said Mrdak.
