Today the Assembly of
the Joint Stock Company "Elektroprivreda Srbije" (EPS) adopted the
Report on the Implementation of the Three-Year Business Plan for 2024 and the
Three-Year Business Plan for the period 2025-2027.
The report for 2024
shows that EPS continues the path of business and financial stability and
profitability while implementing significant investments. The company achieved
a profit of RSD 26.1 billion in the previous year. Despite complex objective
circumstances, the hottest summer on record leading to record summer
consumption, and significantly worse hydrology compared to 2023, significant
overhaul activities in the mining and thermal sector, including major overhauls
of the B1 unit in Kostolac and A2 in TENT, as well as the ongoing rehabilitation
of the Bajina Bašta pumped storage plant, energy production was at the planned
level. After almost 35 years, EPS has a new production capacity on the grid,
the B3 unit in Kostolac with a capacity of 350 MW, and the trial operation of
the desulfurization system in TENT A has begun, which will significantly
contribute to air quality, not only in Obrenovac but throughout Serbia. Total
investments exceeded EUR 550 million, which is 26 percent more than in 2023.
Additionally, EPS continues to rejuvenate and professionalize its workforce,
with 379 new employees hired.
With positive business
trends for the second year in a row, conditions have been created for an
increase in employee salaries in 2025. Further improvement of working
conditions will be ensured through a new methodology for job evaluation and a
unified value of working hours. Human Resources representatives have already
introduced EPS workers' union representatives to the basic principles for
developing the new methodology. In the coming period, it is necessary to
jointly establish a fair methodology that will consider all the specificities
of each job.
The good results are an
acomplishment of all the workers who demonstrate professionalism,
responsibility, and dedication every day, aware of the company's role in
society and committed to their work duties. In 2025, the process of
transformation, operational, and structural changes will continue to further
improve business efficiency.
Once again, we call on
all EPS workers, as well as employees in companies engaged in EPS, who are
targeted by political activists and negative media campaigns of some media, to
remain dedicated to their work tasks and obligations. In a company that ensures
energy security and safety for all citizens of the Republic of Serbia, there is
no place for political activism. Responsible and dedicated work is a
prerequisite for transforming the company into a modern and efficient regional
energy leader.
